A
Little About Me
So
you want to know more about me, huh? Let's see. I Was born in Milwaukee
Wisconsin back in 1981. From as far back as I can remember, my parents
have been divorced and they lived together off and on up until I was about 10
or 11 years old. It was then that my mother and I moved out to a small
town called Muskego for a fresh start. I didn't have much interest
in sports or bodybuilding at all. I was just a rather normal kid, or
abnormal if you were to ask many of my friends. And let's face it,
I wasn't in the best of shape. However, Muskego was a football town
and if you wanted to be anyone, you were going to have to play. So of
course, I caved in and signed up with no real drive to play. I didn't
know what I wanted to do. I listed myself as a safety and running back,
just because it looked like it was the most fun.
Well to make a long story
short, I ended up starting all 4 years in high school. I was moved
around to line backer and a tight end by my senior year. Along the way
I Also played a few years of rugby and a couple seasons of wrestling
and posted a 300+ lb bench press my junior year. Then when I left high
school for college, I did absolutely nothing. eating pizzas and playing
video games was the extent of my activity. Then when I realized just
how bad things had gotten I got back into the weight room and started
the ball rolling. All I knew was how to train
to be an athlete. But since I wasn't playing sports any more
I had to find something else. I started surfing
the net, watching "Fitness" shows, and it slowly progressed
into bodybuilding. As I heard more and more that diet and nutrition
was the missing link, I started to clean up my act and eat a much
cleaner diet.
Even after about 7 years I still
had absolutely no clue when it came to supplements. Only whatever line of
crap the guy at the GNC counter would feed me that week. Soon I started reading
and researching everything about supplements I could find and finally I figured
out what the difference between a protein powder, amino acid supplement and
Meal replacement was! Something that has eluded the experts and dietitians
out there. You will hear them use the terms interchangeably and confuse over
consumption problems between one
and the other.
And you will
also here them say that they provide no benefit nor have they been
shown to increase muscle mass or performance. To this day they
still call the egg the highest quality protein, when in fact research
has dubbed whey proteins to be far superior in every aspect. But
enough ranting.
As
I became smarter and more skilled as a bodybuilder, my physique took
leaps and bounds and I decided to enter the competitive world. I have
had the pleasure to talk face to face with bodybuilders like Derik Farnswarth,
Skip Lacour, and Jeff Willet. I've learned so much from these guys
its unbelievable. I owe a lot to them and will always be in their
debt.
All of these life style changes
led to a change in education for me as well. I had been majoring
in Computer science for about 2 years and made the change to human movement
sciences, or kinesiology/ Exercise physiology. I love learning all that
I can and will continue to increase my working knowledge and
provide the latest in training, diet, nutrition and supplementation as
best as I can.
I hold a B.S. in Kinesiology and certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association( NSCA ), as well as the American College of Sports Medicine ( ACSM ). I have been an active strength and conditioning coach since 1998
and offer program development for general fitness, as well as Sports training, bodybuilding and contest preperation..
I have a very strong background in football, basketball, speed training and many other sports as well. Take a look through my products and services catalog to
see if there is any one that may suit your needs. I'm also a featured writer for numerous online publications and plan to continue
providing information for them as well. As I stated before, I love learning and
don't mind spending my free nights in the library looking up the latest research
if it will help not only myself but you in your bodybuilding and fitness goals. I would like to compete again, but my last attempt was not
a pleasant experience. I dieted clean for an entire year. I broke off of schedule
maybe 3 or 4 times. started contest dieting 13 weeks out. I was contest ready
with 4 weeks left. And I called the promoter to get more info on the contest,
directions, drug testing, etc and was informed that they failed to raise enough
funds and the show was cancelled. I was crushed. But life goes on, right? Now
I am focusing on my other projects. The first being this website and the other
being a cookbook made for bodybuilders and the bodybuilding lifestyle. All the
recopies are designed to fall in the basic high protein moderate carbs and low
fat plans that most bodybuilders follow. And I must say they are mighty tasty
and all relatively low calorie. They are also a pleasant welcome if you are sick
of eating tuna and eggs all day!
In 2004 I got back into football at the semi-pro level in a mid-west based League called the Ironman Football League. Although I had not plaed in years, my style of training and eating had kept me in tip top shape. My unique combination of size, strength and speed made me the perfect candidate for defensive end. It was only a matter of time before I became one of the most feared pass rushers and defensive players in the league. Rather than the quaterback looking off linbackers and d-backs, I was their primary concern. In the members area, I have kept a detailed journal about my training and game by game stats.
